Happy First Birthday Piper!

Happy first birthday to Piper!
This little pup's already had quite an adventure in his young life! He was born in Kentucky, and the family couldn't afford to take care of his mom or his two sisters, so they were moved to an overcrowded shelter in Kentucky. A foster organization up here took them in, and he went to a very loving home in Waukesha County--and then he came to his forever home with us in early March at 9 weeks of age. Three weeks later, he took his second long car ride, when we drove back through Kentucky and kept going to Florida (the puppy picture with the flowers was taken in Huntsville, AL on the way down, by the Rocket!), where he first met his cousins Cimba and Babe and his grandma and grandpa. In May we packed up the clan again, and headed to The Smokey Moutains and to the Carolinas for a week of camping. And at the end of June early July, we packed up the clan once again for a two week adventure out west, where we saw The Black Hills, Glacier National Park, Yellowstone National Park, and The Badlands, (where you see him rolling around in the above picture). And he's been up north to Grandma and Grandpa's a couple of times, and has been to a few dog parks in Florida, here, and up by my parents', and camping in the Dells.

This link is his adoptive video, bio and pictures from his foster home; the video's really cute, watch it if you can:

Angel created these adorable gingerbread men and their house.

I'm so proud of Little Fairy--her previous "scribbling" (to use her words) suddenly transformed! She's becoming more confident with her art!!

And Now, A Christmas Song (and video test)

Ok, my first video test/ attempt--we've had a very nice digital (technically analog) video camera for two years now, and have yet to figure out how to apply titles to it on our computer and to be able to create dvd's on the external drive we bought. I'm leaving it up to my hubby the engineer who is NOT technically challenged at all, and he's spent hours on it already, trying to figure it out. We'll make it work. In the mean time, I actually DO know how to use my still camera, and the video function on it, but never found a good use for the video function, until now:) (thanks for the inspiration Julie, though this is not quite as cute as your smiling and cooing two month old:)

Please note some humorous moments--if you listen carefully, you can hear my Farmville cows a-mooing--and as soon as I stopped the camera, Angel said, "mama, that's enough, our voice boxes hurt." And Fairy Girl said, "yes, and we need juicies!."

Fun Stuff

Angel holding an adorable snowman she made all by herself! She's finally learning to use her scissors!

Angel posing in one of her daddy's shirts. Both girls LOVE to raid his closet (probably because I won't let them raid mine:) and run around in and sleep in his shirts:) Fairly Girl looked adorable in one of his Harley shirts last night---she looked like such a cute little Bad A%@ :)

Piper is just beginning to realize that he's going to have to endure many years of torment and humilation with our family:)

Both girls decided that their bean bag chairs were giant nests; they kept raiding the fridge for "eggs" (since I wouldn't let them use real eggs, they chose fruit)--they then sat on their nests to hatch their eggs.

What can I say:)
