December 31st Shelter Cover Marina Outing:

December 31st....yet another wonderful day on the boat (the warm weather streak ends today:)...we took it into Shelter Cove (LOTS of idle speeds to get there); two Dolphins (most went south), several Pelicans and a couple of great blue herons, lunch with Piper at his first restaurant. Then a wonderful New Year's Eve Celebration with Grandma and Grandpa. She created her very own Royal Rummy board to carry on the New Year's tradition of my grandparents.

And, according to the non vegetarians, she made the best she crab soup ever:)

Cheers to a healthy, joyful, and peaceful 2016 to you all from the southeast coast!

December 30th-Daufuski Island Trip:

We were hungry...so we hopped on the boat and drove to an off shore island to eat lunch:

12/30/15....we set sail again! This (former) Wisconsin girl never thought we'd go boating at the end of December!
Piper came with again and did very well! We took him to Daufuski Island, had lunch, rocked on the front porch at the store, saw the horses, and took a little hike. (I suppose I won't get too much sympathy from my WI peeps if I complain about the mosquitos;).
One more day of this incredible weather streak before we drop down to our normal "winter" temps...so yes, we are taking full advantage!

Happy 7th Birthday Piper!

yes, we had a party...unfortunately it may have gotten a tad bit out of hand when grandma and grandpa engaged in a whipped cream fight!

December 27th.....boating!

Dec 25th....went to the beach
Dec 26th....took an 18 mile bike ride, dined outside
Dec 27th...boat ride!
(I could get used to this year-round summer lifestyle;)

December 26th....we took an 18 mile round trip family bike ride to Old Town and Had Dinner

and capped it off with a gorgeous sunset and backyard campfire:

Christmas Day

We started in our own home....

and ended up on the beach....because it's there....and it was warm:)

and there was a LOT of fog...which must have something to do with this unseasnonably warm weather....and the ocean not being quite as warm...but it didn't stop the tourists...or my husband:) from going in!

Merry Christmas To All, and to All a Good night:)

Everywhere we went, we just kept running into Santa, right in our own neighborhood!

we even bumped into *this* Santa again, later that night on Sea Pines!
I always thought Santa rode on a sleigh, powered by reindeer, but here he is seen in a compact car, driven by an elderly couple:)

And here, we found Santa and the Mrs., as we were entering our neighborhood, on the back of a firetruck:)

Christmas Eve at Grandma and Grandpa's!

and they just keep getting taller (our tree):

Grandma and Grandpa's tree:

and, they delivered cookies and veggies and dill dip to the local fire station, via golf cart:)

Happy 49th Anniversary to My Parents!

We celebrated with them....we treated them to The Coast at the Sea Pines Beach Club.  This was our first time there, and wow, what a treat (ok, for the three of the six vegetarians it was more of an atmospheric than a culinary treat, but still!).....we dined...outdoors, with our own personal table top fire pit, ocean front, in 68 degree temps on December 23rd.  Now THAT is cool!

Little Angel, did you drop the gum on the carpet? (No)

Then who spit their gum out on the carpet?!!!

do you know what I LOVE?!!!

That my parents no longer live 20 miles away, and they can spontaneously call and say, "hey, let's go on a beach walk and then out to lunch!"....and (because we homeschool and now live only seven miles from them and all...oh, and the weather is crazy nice December weather).....we say, why YES, yes, let's do that!

and....we can get photos of me and the girls that AREN'T selfies...and Grandma can still pull all the crazy antics out of her beach hat to make them smile (you know, because they still won't cooperate with photos...like they're two...which they're not...in case you weren't sure:)

and of course the photo opportunities on the coastline are endless:)

and then there's Brie.....We probably have the ONLY children in the entire history of mankind who give us a hard time about going to the beach....seriously!  But, thank goodness  Brie (and Grandma and Grandpa:) moved down......

speaking of Brie, she met a puppy friend....

me and my "little" girls....ages 10 and 11:)
remember I mentioned lunch....well, to get to lunch we *had* to walk by the boats in the Marina....and they just happened to be decorated....

Captain Snoopy!
lunch...Mexican...YUM!

Brie likes lunch :D

King Triton and his daughters:)

Merry Christmas from Hilton Head!  and as a grand finale.....guess who greeted us upon our return to our neighborhood!

Merry Christmas to all, and to all a goodnight!
