Piper is literally afraid of Smoky the Bear.  He's running away, hiding under the table, growling, and barking at it. Reminds me of Brie being afraid of Jack Frost's giant ice cream cone.

the schools were closed today in Beaufort County in anticipation of potential sleet and slippery roads...even though we weren't scheduled to go much below 40 degrees?

...I can relate to both ends of the winter spectrum ... Schools are shutdown today...for rain, but playing it cautious in case temps drop.
Last year everything shut down for a thin layer of ice...but I will tell you, I too was freaked out at the thought of my hubby driving in that (lack of salt trucks, lack of winter driving experience with the other drivers:)....WI winter driving didn't phase me

and let me also tell you...as pretty as this is....I do NOT miss this :D


and today....schools were shut down....for this :D...it's called rain

just another February day at the beach.....

we had a visitor :D

in which we were invited to the Inaugural Mardi Gras Party for Krewe of Joie de Vivre!

Look at this beautiful King Cake!  Fairy Girl was afraid that she would be the one to get the baby....and would require the Heimlich Maneuver!  Thankfully that was not the case:)
I know they don't look to thrilled here...but it was mostly because they were afraid we would be late for the party...you know...they are J's daughters...and they know how he is:)

Oh....and in other shocking news, Fairy Girl has announced that her new favorite color is now purple (which means I should have stuck with the traditional Mardi Gras colors for her mask)???  Seriously, I don't know when that happened.

2015: three years later, many of the toys out-grown and donated, after three years of fun and memory-making as younger girls, in their Garden Suite, it is time for them to have their own space again:

 



and full-circle: the bonus room is back to a guest room and storage room (you know, no basements on the coast...the stuff has to go somewhere:)...and now add to that, my Dragonfly Inspirations Studio...I LOVE it!


My view from the window is of my backyard forest...this is VERY inspiring...my forest is my Muse:)
