Jekyll Island Adventure:

Had a fabulous adventure today visiting Jekyll Island: Georgia Sea Turtle Hospital and a wonderful carriage ride!!! Oh, and the highlight, the horse's name is Ron, like my dad Ron :)

 

In case you were wondering just what a sea turtle hospital looks like:

a replica of leatherback sea turtle....they can get quite large!

After the hospital tour, we did a little tour of Jekyll Island, in traditional old south style:

there's a lot of interesting and rich history on Jekyll Island, that goes WAY back...and I'm talking Rockerfeller and Vanderbilt wealth!


and of course there's cute shops!

and beaches

and beauty


there was food, fudge, and ice cream too!!

p.s.  the last time we drive down, as it's about two hours south of us, was three years ago.  Look what a difference three years makes!

My girls received belated Christmas gifts from us

new Nikkon cameras with 12x optical zoom (nicer than my 11 year old really nice Kodak!)

 
....and today they hopped our backyard fence to set out on a photography adventure
