First Time Floating...
As we were driving to the parade line up, Little Fairy put her hat over her eyes and said, "look mommy, lights are out!." And then I looked back a little later, and she was sound asleep:)
A few of us went out to dinner after the parade--mmmmm banana creme pie for dessert!!!
The girls got to participate in their first TWO parades this year. At the end of the summer they marched with the doggy park group in the Rome Parade; and today they rode on the band wagon in the Menomonee Falls Christmas parade--it was chilly (but in the 40's)--the parade was after dark, so everything was so pretty and festive. I think the girls had a really nice time!!

Random Stuff
Thanksgiving 2009 with Grandma and Grandpa
Our new fiber optic dragonfly lights for Angel's surprise fairy tea party---I was disappointed there were no purple dragonflies--that's just wrong:(
This is a VERY interesting that Angel would draw this--I thought her obsession was with mermaids--since I haven't watched "Charmed" in about a year, I have NO idea where she got the inspiration to draw this:)
Yes, I'd like to order a sweet Fairy Girl to go please---oh, and can I have fries with that too please?

Deck The Halls....
We had a wonderful Thanksgiving with my parents and my brother. I invited my parents over, and my mom told me to bring the pies:) She cooked a wonderfully delicious feaste, and I am anxiously awaiting left-overs tonight!
Today I made a spiced cider and left it simmering in the crockpot all day (the aromas are wonderful!); we then cranked the Christmas tunes and decorated for the holidays!!! (Oh, and Little Fairy Girl discovered the blow dryer!).
By the way, with young kids and a puppy in the house, we decided we still need to keep my blown glass ornaments and the ones with hooks in storage--again---When I can finally use them again in 10 years, it's going to be, well like Christmas:)

"Class" Field Trip
We had a nice field trip today to the educational center at the zoo. The day started as yet another drizzly, damp, and gray day. But literally upon our arrival the skies cleared and the sunshine came out! (I feel that Mother Nature was doing me a favor, because after our class it was raining and cold again!) We got there about an hour early to walk around a bit. Then we headed back to the educational center for our class with an elementary teacher turn zoo educator:) We first learned to distinguish the difference between living and non living things: living things grow, living things need water, and living things need energy--I had to refrain about asking about lamps and light bulbs and televisions:)
We learned about the difference between plants and animals, and we learned about vertibrates and invertibrates (do I dare mention a few names of people who lack backbones:)--Ms. Molly had real live examples of the latter---we met Hedgie the hedge hog and a tarantula! Finally the class ended with a nice art project. I should mention that Ms. Molly explained photosynthesis to the children; and when she mentioned that plants convert the energy from sun into sugar---my little angel rather loudly said 'OOOOOOHHHHH!" (that's my girl!)
p.s. The photo shown above with Fairy girl sitting on the statue's lap--she walked right over there, plopped herself down and said, "HI DADDY!:)"

Ballerina Girl
The other day, I happened to put a c/d in that I purchased when I first found out I was pregnant with my second---Miracles by Celine Dion--it is so beautiful--depicting the beauty and miracles of children. Well, that's probably the first time I've played it in four years, and out came this little miracle doing beautiful ballet--she looked so graceful and elegant!

Band Gig Last Night
We had a wonderful band concert last night---the music was great and the band sounded really big and strong! That was fun. We may not have had a large audience--but gosh, if you look at the big lighted cross behind us, I'd say we had some VERY important audience members present last night:) Following a group of us headed over to Mattie's---more cheese logs, spinach and artichoke dip and pizza:)
