Hay There!

The pumpkin farms down here have NOTHING on the ones up north.  This one, not far from us, had high ratings--yet, there was nothing there.  The pumpkins were "imported" from a pumpkin farm in Charleston (we're going there this weekend, this one is supposed to be really good!  Let's hope so!)  The only thing they had were some imported pumpkins on the grass, a couple of animals to throw cheerios at, and some tall hay stacks to jump off (those were fun).  But all that cutsy fall harvesty decor that I dig so much---not-so-much.  And of course the fact that we have palm trees and 80 degree temps, does not lend itself to that fall-atmosphere.  It is cooling down into the low 60s and upper 50s at night now, so Halloween should be good (we're hosting a pre-trick-or-treating Halloween party for the neighbors---complete with a low-country seafood boil (NOT my idea:D) and a bon fire.  A good time should be had by all.  Stay-tuned for this weekend's update for our trip to the Boone Hall Fall Festival!!  This looks fun!!!

maybe it's called a crab bake? I have no idea, and I have nothing to do with that part of the gathering--that's all J and the man neighbors! (he's turned into a total carnivoire since our move---esp. all this barbecue stuff!)
