Fairy Girl was crowned the princess for this year!

what do you think of the royal thrones?  We arrived to catch the tail end of the parade; you know, because we were biking...and then one of the males in our family had to shower...and groom ....men.  This is the King and Queen of 2015; their titles are handed over later in the evening to their successors.

The princess of 2016, bids you farewell

in which we were invited to the Inaugural Mardi Gras Party for Krewe of Joie de Vivre!

Look at this beautiful King Cake!  Fairy Girl was afraid that she would be the one to get the baby....and would require the Heimlich Maneuver!  Thankfully that was not the case:)
I know they don't look to thrilled here...but it was mostly because they were afraid we would be late for the party...you know...they are J's daughters...and they know how he is:)

Oh....and in other shocking news, Fairy Girl has announced that her new favorite color is now purple (which means I should have stuck with the traditional Mardi Gras colors for her mask)???  Seriously, I don't know when that happened.
