Art and Flowers

The girls snuck out of bed at 3am  to create and hang heart art all over the house (there's a lot more where this came from;)

these are the beautiful flowers I received from my wonderful hubby!  (unfortunately the Lindt chocolates didn't last long enough to make it to the photo session :D )

and this is the cool giant "piper" card that the girls were excited to receive in the mail...from Grandma and Grandpa (unfortunately Piper got excited too, and proceeded to chew up their Princess Elsa doll, from "Frozen" while they  were busy opening the envelope.....naughty puppy

Valentine's Day Fun

Lunch at Mi Tierra with my favorite Valentines....followed by an art walk in our Old Town, playground and palm trees, and a jog over to our favorite little Icecream shop (envisioning meeting grandma and grandpa there on their golf cart....very soon!  The girls are tired today...apparently they waited until I went to bed to sneak downstairs to decorate the house in hearts...

unfortunately I didn't know that because it's the one night I opted to stay up until 2:30 am :/
Maybe that means they'll go to bed ontime tonight :D

Valentine's Day Treat

Little Angel made these sugar cookie bars, for her daddy to bring to his coworker's today :)

DEEEEEELISH (shhhhhh, don't tell her I snuck a taste when I cut them ;)

Valentine's Day: Homeschool Association Party

We had a gathering of homeschooled students at the library, from our "social" association.  We had a Valentine's Party!

In preparation for the party, all the parents had their kids make Valentine's boxes at home, and put their names on the boxes.

the next logical step was to fill the boxes with valentines!

They received a variety of cards, pencils, candies, and chocolates...everything that comprises Valentine's Day (that and hearts:)

I confess we never actually go down to the library a whole lot....we have a TON of books...I'm more of a book buyer than a library borrower (yes, I know, shame on this English Major!).  My girls both LOVE to read, so they are NOT deprived, as we have NO shortage of books;)  Obviously it had been awhile, because my card was outdated....oh, and see Fairy Girl there....she just learned how to check her self out.  I had NO idea they were doing that sort of thing now:D  In fact, the librarian asked me (as I was waiting for her to check me out:), if I had a fine to pay or something, because apparently everybody knows you check yourself out in this day and age....everybody except ME!

Little Angel went to a book club, Fairy girl worked on the computer in the kids' section.  They had a room with treats, people brought food in...I kind of admit to being a germ a foid :), when I see community food, sitting out in the open at two year old level...but that's just me...I selfishly value my sleep too much to bother with sick kids if I don't have to;)  (ya, I know, get over myself and start living in the real world).....but no worries, my children were not at all deprived....

We headed over to our beloved Parrot's Cove (where everybody knows our name:), and had ourselves a tasty treat!

The End (until daddy comes home....who will hopefully be armed with more goodies;)

Valentine's Day Flashback, circa 2006

Valentines from my Little Cupids

So, it turns out that at the weeeeee hours of 4 am, my little girls snuck down stairs to begin preparations for the big day (though Fairy Girl wound up falling back asleep on the couch, so her daddy carried her up to my bed;)...Valentine's Day!  A day filled with pinks, reds, chocolates, flowers, and hearts!  This is very central to most little girls, and mine are no exception ;)

Photo
Later, I was called down stairs, because Little Angel surprised me with breakfast; notice the heart shaped toast?  This is key:)
Photo: Karina surprised me with breakfast! The girls also got up (and fell asleep on the couch;) at 4 am to decorate! Notice the heart-shaped toast;). So, for the ones who think Valentine's Day is a farce, this is what it's all about!!
My little surprise treats for my clan:

Happy Valentine's Day!  More fun to follow, stay tuned......

Happy Valentine's Day! (my sweetie done good:)

Fairy Girl's daddy surprised her with this today--I just caught the irony, and I'm not sure he did, notice, Snoopy is holding a pair of scissors; and just two days ago, Fairy Girl handled her older sister a pair of child safe scissors, and asked for and received a haircut! (ughhhh)

Let's just say, he hasn't given me a small box since we were engaged:)

Sweet Fairy Girl enjoying a Tinkerbelle card her daddy picked out.

Buddy's truly our heart breaker--we love our boy!
(note to Izzy, quit your blubbering:)

Little Angel reading her Little Mermaid card.

And as for me, my sweetie done good...

Yep, real real good!

The especially neat thing about his choice is, just a few weeks ago I was actually hoping to receive some jewelry piece in citrine from him, because that's the birthstone for November, which is the month of Buddy's birthday (oh ya, and my dad's and my sis in law's and Deanna Cornelie's (my cabbage patch kid that my grandparents gave to me back in the mid 80's, I still have her:)--
