I've missed my beach....it's probably been a month for me :D

and I decided that Sunday nights, I'm going to hit the beach for a long, meditative, exercise walk...and then head over to Fresh Market/Publix (and later WHOLE FOODS MARKET, after it's built:) to buy groceries....I say that hitting the beach is a most excellent precursor to grocery shopping :D ). The skies this evening were in very soothing strokes of pastels:

DIY pancake mix

My multiplied pancake mix recipe:
6 cups whole wheat flour
6 cups all purpose flour
1/2 cup baking powder
3 teaspoons salt
3/4 cup sugar

Place ingredients into a 4 quart airtight container.
Secure lid and shake well.
Measure out 1 1/4 cup dry ingredients and place in bowl.
In a separate bowl (or a 2 cup measuring cup--my lazy way), combine one beaten egg, 1 cup milk, and 2 tablespoons canola oil.
Pour liquid ingredients into dry ingredients and stir until just moistened.
Place desired amount of batter in a pan over medium heat (1/3 cup of batter produces a nice size pancake).
When bubbles pop on surface of batter and edges look dry, flip with a spatula to cook the other side.
Cook on second side for 2-3 minutes, checking occasionally for color. (I like mine light to medium brown.)

Benefit for two people in a serious motorcycle accident

Southeastern WI friends: my friend is hosting a benefit for her two good friends who were very seriously injured in a motorcycle accident. This event will be held November 23rd at 1:00 pm at Ironwood Chophouse & Saloon

Raffles, beer, food and music. $25 per person includes lunch, beer and a raffle ticket to the big cash prize. $5.00 of each $25.00 will create the cash prize. This is for my friends who were in a motorcycle accident. After several surgeries and an extended hospital stay their medical bills are over half million dollars and both will not be able to work for about a year.
