Sunsets in South Carolina

ARE AMAZING!  Since orange is my favorite color, I've decided that we're going to have a family weekly tradition of visiting the sunset...either from the May River or from the ocean front.  What, we're on the Atlantic?  That won't work?  Ok, ya, maybe, but once a week, we will be on water to view our amazing sunsets as a family.  Tonight we started our tradition, down by the May River, and if the photos (taken from my iphone) show even a fraction of just how spectacular the colors were this evening, then I'm happy...because the colors were AMAZING!  We then headed over to a local pizza favorite, Fiddle Head, and WOW was it good!  And coming from a MAJOR PIZZA town in WI, and so close to Chicago which is famous for its pizza...that says a LOT!  (we should have gone to Fiddle Head LAST night...we would have saved a boatload of money, and I would have been a much happier bday girl with my meal:D)

We also have plans on heading down for an occasional sun rise on the ocean-front...but that will not be a weekly event....( we're kind of night owls:D)

And, without further adieu:

Gifts of the Heart

2012; the year of craftiness....I've always been a self-proclaimed non crafty person (though I LOVE other people's crafts, and I buy them too;)....but a year ago or so, I've had this huge inkling to start expressing myself creatively again.  It's as if my creative well had been dried up for so long, and now it's just overflowing with color and sparklies!   This manifested into my accidental bracelet business (I say "accidental" because I attempted to make myself a bracelet one day about one year ago, and low and behold people started requesting my bracelets...and lo and behold, Dragonfly Inspirations was born!)

Fast forward one year later, and this crafty drive has very much become a way of life for us; from decorating our home to our little girls' day outings to gift-giving!  And I LOVE it!  Creativity is the vital life force...Creativity is LOVE!  We all create...our lives, every moment of everyday.  It's not separate...it IS!

And now, here are the birthday gifts, hand crafted from the hearts and love of my two beautiful little girls:

Another Day, Another Year Gone by....

Wow, time is truly traveling amazingly fast!  I cannot believe how quickly 2012 flew by!  But, here we are...another January 25th...another year.....and life just keeps getting more and more beautiful every year!  I'm very grateful for the direction our family has gone....how we've grown...how joyful we truly are...how much our time together means to all of us; the girls REALLY cherish family time, and it's more than I ever could have dreamed for!

Here's a recap of how we celebrated my birthday this evening:

Photo: Kind of creepy to be surrounded by the exact same makes and colors of our own vehicles:O
We're headed to Hilton Head Island...we're directly behind two vehicles, in the exact makes and colors of our very own (the photo was taken from our patriot blue grand cherokee)....anyway, this moment was kind of creepy and twilight-zoneISH:O.  We were driving to have dinner in an "Italian" (aka turned out to be a much too expensive seafood restaurant that happened to slap some pasta on the side, and pacify vegetarians of the world with some pasta and veggies and some toxic sauce...sorry to be bitter, but I have the feeling they secretly tried to do me in with a clam sauce or something...I'm currently drinking pepperment tea to rectify the sitatuon:D)  But, J thoroughly enjoyed his seafood and pasta, and the girls enjoyed their food from the kiddie menu...lesson learned, I should ALWAYS stick with the kiddie menu in restaurants...can never go wrong with grilled cheese:D  That Or Panera's...Panera's NEVER fails me:D

Meanwhile, back at the ranch.....

Little Miss Angel spent her morning baking me a cake...pineapple cake with cream cheese frosting...it was deeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeelish

Piper....sweet sweet Piper...he never forgets me, not even on my birthday!

A Fantabulous Day was had by all!!!!

January Garden Update:

Photo: Amazing how hearty herbs are!

The herbs are quite hearty!

Additional insight:
I now know why my potted herb garden was thriving through the winter...I picked the pot up to put it on a table...there were holes in the bottom of the pot and the herbs had rooted themselves into the garden...and I just ruined their ingenious plan :(

Photo: I love my backyard woods!
Partially because we put fencing up around the garden area, to protect the produce from this guy (girl?)

Photo: The hot peppers we accidentally planted won't die either;D
the accidental hot peppers (aka hubby wasn't wearing his glasses when he picked up the plant or seeds;)...just won't die!  I have no idea what to do with these (but we do use them when armadillos come into our yard;)
Photo: Ahhhhhhhhhhh; amazing coastal breezes today....
the coastal breezes are amazing today; life is quite good:)

Creamy Rich Hot Chocolate Mix

Creamy, rich hot chocolate mix - better than any store-bought packets.(click to get recipe) My recipes that I've made for years...

1 8-quart box of powdered milk,
1lb box nestle quick,
1 8-oz jar of cremora,
1lb box of powdered sugar and 1/4 to 1/2 cup of cocoa.
Mix all together.

The tradition--now my children make it and hand it out at Christmas.

I Sort of Have This Addiction.....

It's called Island Cowgirl...remember my gorgeous Dragonfly Earrings I landed a few months ago?

I LOVE LOVE LOVE them, and wear them ALL the time!!  I feel inspired in my own creations by hers....we don't have the same style, by anymeans...so I'm in no way, shape or form "copying" her ideas...my ideas are mine, and I like to think my creations have a life force of their own....but she inspires me with her sense of whimsy.

(I want this one;)
Photo: <3<3<3 ..who strung these lightbulbs on my antlers?...<3<3<3
This is Nigel...her dog...I LOVE him...maybe he's the reason why I fell in love with her creations?
Because if truth be told, I was NEVER big on silver.....until I met Island Cowgirl!
Photo: <3<3<3...feeling our cowgirl side today...what are you feeling...<3<3<3
Oh, and she LOVES horses (being a cowgirl and all)...she lives on a ranch in Cali and has her own.
She does various fund raisers to assist with horses....I love her love of nature, her simplicity, and her style!

And of course I REALLY love her jewelry!
